Respected Sir and Madam, today i went to the singapore national eye institute. Unfortunately i could not go yesterday, i.e., Friday as i spend the whole friday on the train travelling from KL to Singapore. Luckily for me, Saturday is a kind of partial working day where they see only the necessary post ops or other important follow up cases. The OPD was closed today. So was their research wing. May be they had few OT cases posted. Miss Wein is in Shanghai today so i could not meet her. But they were helpful to me and got me their public relations offcier Mr Ravi, a singaporian of indian origin. It was very helpful when i used Aravind's name as they instantly recognized me as someone to be taken care of. Mr Ravi gave me a brief tour of the the hospital and gave me few brochures regarding fellowships for foreign graduates. Incidentally i also met one guy who was working at the cornea eye bank under DR MS Sir at Aravind, Madurai. He left AEH, Madurai in the August of 2004 few months after i joined. I did not remember seeing him at Aravind. He is currently working for the eye bank here. I am leaving singapore tomorrow. Sincerely, Navin
