4th September, Monday evening.
Pattaya.
Local time: 7.45 pm
Morning arrived at local time 6.30 am. Bright sunny and hot day. Airport very impressive for a third world country. Nearly all female staff in the airport all well dressed and smart. Came out of the airport around 7.30 am but saw no one standing with a placard. Waited for half an hour searching again and again but to no avail. I thought to myself, " Ballu, you had it. Now sort out the mess yourself". But then as i came out of the airport, i saw the TAAT (Tourist Association something) office and hesitantly went inside. I asked one person wether he can help me by calling the mobile number of Miss Cartoon ( the name is unforgettable!). He was very kind and used his mobile to call the lady and notified her of my arrival. I had to wait another half an hour holding my hunger and bowel and then a nice guy came full of apologies. Then he took me to a big SUV like thing. He asked me to get inside and turned on the AC to maximum. Having mad eme comfortable he drove me to the Ambassador hotel. The roads and the cars of bangkok are very impressive. Our bombay roads and cars look something from the past century in comparision. All the cars i saw on the road were air conditioned, including the cabs. All the cars were modern big cars.
The traffic though heavy and at times congested, is very organised and law abiding.
The ambassador hotel was a sight to behold. Magnificient and ravishing. I wasnt expecting something this grand. I had breakfast. unfortunately, i had to pay for it. They had issued me the breakfast coupons, but they are meant for tomorrow and day after tomorrow breakfast.
I took steam sauna and jacuuzzi and then slept for 1 hour.
Then i left for Pattaya. First i had lunch in Bangkok in a restaurant then i took the high rail to the bus station from where i took the bus to pattaya.
In the seat adjacent to me, there sat an American who is an retired Hollywood actor. I dont recall having seen him in any movie. Now he has retired in Pattaya. I was chatting with him and he told me that his bike is parked at the Pattaya bus station. So when we reached there at arond 5.45 pm, he took me on his bike to the mini golf and deposited me near a diving instructor. Now this diving instructor is an Italian and not your adorable Brit from Mermaid or Aeronautic. He charged me 3000 for 2 dives and he says that they will leave at 9.45 am as his boat his faster. He also said that his boat supplies unlimited number of soft drinks.
Then i took a room in a hotel called Queen Pattaya which is much near to the mini golf. The room rent is 600 bhat for i day.
And now i am at the internet.
