At the Phacoexcel 2006, i met Dr Kevin Miller MD of Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. I had e mailed to him for the post of ophthalmic assisstant. My application was turned down. I did not speak to him though i at least got to see him and hear him. A year ago when the phaco workshop was held in madurai, i had gott o watch him through the live tele conference from san Francisco where he had conducted and demonstarted the experiment comparing the three phaco probes and the amount of heat each generated. ithink it was published in some issue of JCRA 2005. He is a person of fame and eminence in ophthalmology, especially phacoemulsification.

Besides him, another personality whom i met and spoke with was Dr Vasuvatha. His was also a very good and demonstrative talk where h described new way of chopping. The idea was profoundly simple and logical, but the way it was demonstrated made it very very impressive indeed.
